Countries around the world have realized the significance of e-governance and the impact of technology in transforming the lives of citizens and government processes through the appropriate use of information and communication technology (ICT) in the public sector.
For sustainable transformation to take place in Nigeria, the government needs to devise strategic methods of improving the nation’s level of productivity across all sectors in the economy.

With over 75% of its 92 million hectare landmass being suitable for crop cultivation, Nigeria has all the resources to position itself as one of the world’s leading exporters of agricultural produce. The North-West region of the country has climatic conditions similar to that of China, the largest exporter of raw cotton. The north eastern region has a climate similar to that of Mexico, the largest producer of onions and pears. The climatic conditions of the South-West, South-East and South-South regions of Nigeria are comparable to those of Cote d’Ivoire, Malaysia and Thailand the largest producers of cocoa, palm oil and rice respectively.
